Hereford United apologise for Luton Town thrashing by offering fans free food

Hereford United attempt to appease their disgruntled supporters who witnessed Saturday's 7-0 loss at Luton Town by offering them a free buffet.

Hereford United have attempted to appease their disgruntled supporters who witnessed Saturday's 7-0 loss at Luton Town by offering them a free buffet.

Luton revealed that 156 visiting fans had attended the match at Kenilworth Road, with many Bulls supporters having embarked on the 281-mile roundtrip from Edgar Street.

After the match, Hereford's official club Twitter page published the following message: "To the 156 fans who have travelled today. Keep your ticket stub and we'll invite you to a free buffet ahead of a forthcoming home game."

The loss to the Conference leaders was Hereford's heaviest ever defeat in England's top five divisions.
