McCarthy 'buys £1m home for parents'

Everton midfielder James McCarthy has reportedly spent £1m on a home for his parents.

The 22-year-old is believed to have purchased the property in Glasgow, just three miles away from the council house where he grew up.

It is understood that the six-bedroom home is a gift to his parents Marie and Willie as a sign of gratitude for their help throughout his career, according to the Daily Record.

McCarthy moved to Goodison Park from Wigan Athletic for a reported £12m on deadline day.
