Over 60,000 sign England, France petition

Over 60,000 people have signed a petition to have the proceeds of Tuesday's friendly between England and France donated to relief efforts after Friday's terror attack in Paris.

The death toll continues to rise, but 132 people have been confirmed dead after Islamic State terrorists carried out co-ordinated attacks across six locations - including the Stade de France.

Three people died outside the stadium during Germany's clash with Les Bleus after a suicide bomber detonated himself upon being refused entry into the ground.

The friendly will go ahead following initial suggestions that it would be postponed, and Ben Lyons set up a petition calling for both nations' football federations to donate the profits to the French Red Cross and Medecins Sans Frontieres.

His post reads: "Ten years ago, Parisians stood shoulder to shoulder with Londoners after the 7 July bombings. Today, England and France are united in grief.

"The English and French football associations should commit to donate the profits of the game to these two charities, so that some good can come out of the barbarism seen on Friday night.

"Please sign this petition, and we will make Tuesday's England v France game a symbol of friendship and fraternité."

The target is 75,000.
