Ex-England captain David Beckham delighted daughter Harper loves football

Former England captain David Beckham has admitted that it was the "best thing" that he ever heard when his daughter Harper revealed that she wanted to become a footballer.

Beckham's wife Victoria recently revealed that the couple's four-year-old has taken an interest in her father's former job.

The ex-Manchester United star's three other children - sons Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 13, and 10-year-old Cruz - are all interested in football.

"[Harper wanting to be a footballer] was the best thing I'd ever heard I think," Beckham said during an interview on ITV's Good Morning Britain.

"Victoria is like, 'please, we've got four children, three of them are boys and all love football. Please just let me have one that kind of wants to dress like me or wear high heels' and actually Harper is amazing, she runs in the high heels so she's definitely got that from Victoria."

Beckham and Victoria have been married since 1999.
