CJ Spillman charged with sexual assault in Texas

Free agent CJ Spillman has been charged with sexual assault over an incident in September last year.

The 29-year-old is alleged to have assaulted a women in a hotel in Texas, the night before he was due to play for the Dallas Cowboys against St Louis Rams.

Police in Dallas confirmed that Spillman has been under investigation for the past 10 months, and he is set to appear in court on July 17.

Spillman, who has also played for the San Francisco 49ers, was released by the Cowboys at the end of last season.
