Dallas Cowboys's Joshua Brent charged with manslaughter

Joshua Brent is charged with intoxicated vehicular manslaughter after a car accident leaves his Dallas Cowboys teammate Jerry Brown dead.

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Joshua Brent has been charged with intoxicated vehicular manslaughter after a car accident caused the death of his teammate Jerry Brown.

According to Dallas Morning News, an accident on the East State Highway 114 on Saturday morning led to the death of 25-year-old Brown, who was Cowboys' practice squad linebacker.

Brown was the passenger in the car that Brent was driving and was found unconscious by the police before he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown," said Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

"At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry's family and all of those who knew him and loved him."

Brent, who failed a sobriety test, was reportedly driving at a high speed and lost control of his car.
