Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich 'buys horse for daughter'

Chelsea billionaire owner Roman Abramovich reportedly spends an estimated £50m on a showjumping pony for his daughter Irina.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has bought a showjumping pony for one of his daughters.

The Russian tycoon purchased 12-year-old Pringle from the Walton family of Preston, Lancashire but he allowed the Waltons' daughter Drew to ride the roan gelding in one final competition.

"He was sold two weeks ago to Irina Abramovich and has won four classes since then," The Telegraph quotes Drew as saying.

"Peter Charles (a British show jumper) arranged for me to have the ride here and I am really grateful to him and Irina, otherwise I'd be at home watching it on television.

"I was in tears when I got clear of all the jumps, my emotions just overcame me. He'll be going back to his new home from here."

Reports have claimed that Abramovich spent an estimated £50m on the horse.
