King arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving

Birmingham City striker Marlon King was arrested yesterday on suspicion of dangerous driving following a three-car pile-up that left one man seriously injured.

A 35-year-old was air-lifted to Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, after his Volkswagon Polo collided with a Porsche and a Vauxhall Astra on the A46/A17 interchange in Winthorpe.

King, who has twice spent time in prison, was taken into police custody but later released on bail.

The 33-year-old finished an 18-month stretch in 2010 after being found guilty of sexual assault and actual bodily harm on a 20-year-old woman in a Soho nightclub.

He was also sentenced to 18 months for receiving stolen goods in May 2002, but was released after serving five months.
