Michael Schumacher tribute added to Bahrain Grand Prix circuit

Bahrain add Schumacher tribute to circuit

Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher is expected to be in the thoughts of many at the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend after a special tribute to the stricken sportsman was unveiled.

The 45-year-old has been in the University Hospital in Grenoble since he hit his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps on December 29.

Turn one of the Bahrain International Circuit was recently named in honour of Schumacher, but now a message dedicated to the seven-time champion has been painted on the armco of the circuit's main straight.

It reads: "Our thoughts and prayers are with you Michael."

The German's manager Sabine Kehm released a statement on Thursday claiming that Schumacher is showing "moments of consciousness and awakening".
