Oscar Piastri has secured pole position for Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix after outshining McLaren teammate and Championship leader Lando Norris.
Given their respective performances in practice, a McLaren one-two was anticipated and Piastri was able to deliver on those expectations.
However, while the Australian was at least 0.168 seconds clear of the rest of the field, Norris produced a poor final flying lap in Q3 and could only finish sixth fastest.
Mercedes' George Russell was the driver to capitalise as he joined Piastri on the front row, with Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli in third and fourth respectively.
The performance of Q3 arguably came from Pierre Gasly in the Alpine as he finished fifth fastest, ahead of Norris and Red Bull Max Verstappen who was seventh.
Carlos Sainz Jr, Lewis Hamilton and Yuki Tsunoda completed the top 10, Hamilton nearly one second slower than Piastri.

How does the rest of the grid look?
A heavy crash involving Esteban Ocon led to Q2 being halted, the Frenchman due to start in 14th spot in the Haas.
Jack Doohan, in the second Alpine, delivered an improved showing to finish 11th fastest, but young Briton Oliver Bearman starts in last place.
