Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker is handed the role of collecting fines issued to players for specific rule breaks.

Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has been handed the responsibility of collecting fines issued to the team.

A document detailing the list of players and how much cash they need to pay up for specific rule breaks was leaked online and it stated that the German defender was the club's debt collector.

The list includes fines of £500 for arriving late for training, £100 for taking a laptop, newspaper or phone into the dressing room and a £1,000 hit if players fail to turn up for matches that they are not playing in.

The North London outfit currently sit seven points away from fourth place in the Premier League table.
