Falkner targeting medal in Glasgow

The 35-year-old, who won pairs gold with Amy Monkhouse four years ago, believes that the whole squad can be confident about challenging for medals in Glasgow.

"It's going to be extremely tough for us the Commonwealth is the pinnacle for us its the equivalent of the Olympics so it's going to be difficult but we've put the hard work and preparation in," Falkner revealed to Team England's official website.

"Historically Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and all of the home countries have been the medal contenders but anyone on their day can go out and produce the performance of a life time and come away with a medal."

The lawn bowls event gets underway on Thursday.
