Joe Pavelski: 'We wanted to win the game'

American ice hockey player Joe Pavelski says that the USA were disappointed to lose 5-0 against Finland in their bronze-medal game at the Winter Olympic Games.

American ice hockey player Joe Pavelski has said that the USA were disappointed to lose 5-0 against Finland in their bronze-medal game at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi on Saturday.

The result came after the Americans lost their semi-final against Canada on Friday.

Pavelski told reporters: "There was a lot to play for today. That was talked about a lot in our room. We wanted to score. That's why you play the game. We wanted to win the game a lot more than it showed."

Pavelski won a silver medal four years ago at the Vancouver Games.
