Great Britain lose 11-1 to Lithuania

GB lose preliminary opener

Great Britain have got off to a disappointing start in their goalball campaign by suffering an 11-1 defeat to Lithuania.

The contest, which consists of a two 12-minute halves where three players from both teams tend to be visually impaired, began brightly for Lithuania, who scored within minutes of the start.

ParalympicsGB, who include brothers Adam and David Knott, could only get one goal on the scorecard, while their opponents romped to a 10-goal advantage.

Great Britain will hope to come back from their heavy defeat with a victory against Finland tomorrow.
