Pastor Maldonado believes that he can challenge for the Formula 1 crown after winning the Spanish Grand Prix.
The Venezuelan earned his maiden victory and became the fifth winner in five races this season by beating Ferrari's Fernando Alonso in Barcelona from pole position. The 27-year-old is in a confident mood after his triumph.
"Everything is possible," said Maldonado. "We aren't the best team at the moment. [But] the gaps are close and I'm driving well. I have a good feeling with the team and with the car."
Maldonado has moved up to ninth in the drivers' standings with 29 points, trailing leader Sebastian Vettel by 32 points.
