Mick Schumacher sets sights on becoming Formula 1 champion after kart success

Michael Schumacher's son aims to become Formula 1 world champion after success on the karting circuit.

Michael Schumacher's son has revealed that he intends to become a Formula 1 world champion after impressing on the karting scene.

Fifteen-year-old Mick was crowned World Karting Vice-Champion this week and has said that he intends to follow in his father's footsteps.

"Of course I am proud of such an important result," he is quoted as saying by Yahoo Sport. "But it is also clear that it is my goal to be world champion. This is only the beginning of my career."

His father, a seven-time F1 world champion, is still recovering from serious head injuries after a skiing accident in the French Alps.
