Nico Rosberg has signed a new contract with Mercedes that will keep the driver with the British-based team beyond the 2013 season.
Rosberg's previous contract was due to end in 2012 but he has secured a deal that will keep him at Mercedes.
"I am very excited to have extended my contract with the Mercedes GP Petronas team," said Rosberg.
"To win in a Silver Arrow will be one of the highlights of my life so far, and I greatly enjoy helping to lead our team in our quest to become the best in Formula One.
"I have every confidence that the team will provide me with a winning car, and that we will be able to contribute to the fantastic racing heritage of the Silver Arrows. I look forward to great times in the years ahead with the Mercedes-Benz family."
Mercedes have not revealed the length of the new contract.
Rosberg joined Mercedes from Williams prior to the 2010 season.
The 26-year-old German enjoyed a successful first season, which included three podium finishes, although Mercedes have yet to finish on the podium during 2011.
