Father of late Jules Bianchi: 'It's too difficult to watch Formula 1'

The father of late Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi has admitted that it is "too difficult" to watch the sport following the death of his son.

Philippe Bianchi buried his son in July after the 25-year-old passed away as a result of severe head injuries suffered in a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix almost a year ago.

Bianchi smashed into a recovery vehicle after skidding off the track in his Marussia during a practice session at Suzuka.

Formula 1's elite will return to that same track this weekend, but Bianchi's father has claimed that he will not be watching.

In an interview with BBC Sport, Philippe said: "Perhaps in a few months, a few years, I can see again a grand prix, I don't know, but for the moment, it is too difficult.

"It's a difficult moment because it marks one year now that Jules had his crash, and this week is not a good week for the Bianchi family."

Bianchi is the first F1 driver to die from race injuries since Ayrton Senna in 1994.
