Hamilton leads Indian GP first practice

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has edged out Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel in the first practice round of the Indian Grand Prix.

Hamilton achieved a fastest lap of 1:26.836, while Vettel could only manage 1:27.416.

Hamilton's McLaren teammate Jenson Button came in fourth behind Red Bull's Mark Webber.

Toro Rosso's Jaime Alguersuari was the only driver to crash out.

This weekend's Grand Prix marks Formula 1's debut in India.
