Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly hoping to keep hold of midfielder Harry Winks beyond the January transfer window, despite interest from Spanish side Valencia.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly hoping to keep hold of midfielder Harry Winks beyond the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who is under contract at his boyhood club until the summer of 2024, has struggled for game time under manager Jose Mourinho this season.

Sky Sports News reports that Valencia are interested in signing Winks on loan this month, with the midfielder considering moving away from White Hart Lane.

Winks admitted in November that a lack of game time at Spurs has made this season "difficult" for the midfielder, who hopes to make it into Gareth Southgate's England squad for the delayed Euro 2020 competition next summer.

"Definitely, my situation at Tottenham is difficult at the moment," Winks told Sky Sports News.

"It's important that I keep fighting and working as hard as I can to stay in the squad and to stay in the team. I want to be a part of that in the Euros and I want to be in the starting XI in the Euros as well."

Winks has made seven Premier League appearances and has played five times in the Europa League so far this campaign.
