Borussia Dortmund 'lining up Victor Wanyama swoop'

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama reportedly emerges as a surprise transfer target for Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly lining up a surprise move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama this summer.

New Dortmund boss Lucien Favre has already begun his recruitment drive after replacing Peter Stoger at the Westfalenstadion, bringing in Thomas Delaney from Werder Bremen.

German publication Bild reports that he has now set his sights on Wanyama, too, and is understood to be a keen admirer of the Kenyan.

However, Spurs are understood to be reluctant to sell the defensive midfielder this summer due to the likelihood that Mousa Dembele is also expected to leave the club.

First-team regulars Toby Alderweireld and Dembele have both been linked with moves away from North London this summer, and manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly unwilling to let another important player leave.

Wanyama missed a large chunk of last season through injury, but still made 24 appearances for the club.
