Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.

Tottenham Hotspur's South American quartet remain highly uncertain for Sunday's Premier League trip to Newcastle United.

Davinson Sanchez, Giovani Lo Celso, Emerson Royal and Cristian Romero are all set to arrive back in the UK on Friday, but it would still be a surprise to see any member of the continental quartet passed fit from the first whistle here.

The Lilywhites are also without Ryan Sessegnon as well as two unnamed COVID-positive players, while Matt Doherty and Steven Bergwijn are both uncertain, but Ben Davies has seemingly recovered from a bout of illness.

With Sanchez and Romero unlikely to make the cut, Eric Dier and Joe Rodon could pair up in the heart of defence, with Japhet Tanganga deputising on the right as Hugo Lloris and Sergio Reguilon retain their places.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp formed the midfield pairing in the win over Aston Villa before the break and should do so again here, while Tanguy Ndombele will hope to get the nod over Dele Alli once more.

Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min's spots out wide are safe, while Harry Kane will hope to end his barren Premier League streak in front of goal at St James' Park.

The England captain is yet to find the back of the net in six top-flight appearances so far this term, but he has notched up six Premier League goals against Newcastle, five of which have been scored at St James' Park.

Tottenham possible starting lineup: Lloris; Tanganga, Rodon, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Skipp; Lucas, Ndombele, Son; Kane
