Sandro undergoes knee surgery

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro faces a spell on the sidelines after being forced to undergo surgery on his injured knee.

The 23-year-old, who has been one of Spurs' star performers this season, suffered the injury in last weekend's draw with Queens Park Rangers.

It is not yet clear how long the Brazilian will be out of action, with the club's official website revealing that "the midfielder's recovery schedule will be assessed over the next few days".

The injury means that Jake Livermore, who was expected to leave the club on loan, will now remain at White Hart Lane.
