Glenn Hoddle urges PFA Player of the Year Gareth Bale to stay at Tottenham Hotspur for at least another season.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddle has called on Gareth Bale to give the club another season.

The Wales international has been touted as a possible departure from White Hart Lane this summer following a prolific season, which has resulted in him being named the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

"Well, I do actually," Hoddle told Absolute Radio. "I say that because I think the lad would want to stay. He's just had a baby, I don't see him moving abroad at this moment in time.

"If I were advising him, I would say, stay for another season. I went abroad myself and it's not as easy to settle off the pitch and it's about settling off the pitch to perform on it and I just got a gut feeling that he would want to stay at least another year."

Bale has been linked with a £55m part-exchange deal to Manchester United.
