Carroll hopes to impress at Spurs

Tom Carroll has revealed that he hopes to make an impact at Tottenham Hotspur next season after seeing his loan spell at Queens Park Rangers come to an end.

The 22-year-old midfielder played 26 games last term to help QPR win promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.

Despite admitting that he enjoyed his time at Loftus Road, the youngster now wants to impress new Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino.

"I'm going back to Spurs, will try to impress pre-season and go from there. Being at Rangers has been a positive, and to go up at the end was the icing on the cake," he told Get West London.

"But no player would just want to sit on the bench or in the stands. Everyone wants to play. I'll be back at Spurs and hopefully I can do it there. If not, then we'll see."

Carroll signed his first professional contract at White Hart Lane in 2011 after coming through the club's youth academy.
