Gareth Bale unsure over vital penalty

Bale questions penalty decision

Gareth Bale has admitted that he is not sure whether the vital penalty during Tottenham Hotspur's victory over Stevenage should have been given.

The Welsh winger won a penalty during the 3-1 victory after being challenged by Mark Roberts but he claims that he wasn't sure whether the referee's decision was correct.

"I'm not sure it's a penalty, but I didn't go down looking for it," Bale said.

"The ref gave it so what can I do?"

The 22-year-old also praised Stevenage for their performance during the FA Cup fifth-round replay.

"I think we all knew how hard it was going to be. They gave everything they've got and gave us a hard time, but in the end we started our passing game and the boys finished them off," Bale added.

Spurs will face Bolton Wanderers in the quarter-final of the competition.
