Report: MLS clubs eye Rafael van der Vaart

A report claims that a number of MLS clubs, including Sporting Kansas City, want to sign Hamburger SV midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.

Sporting Kansas City are reportedly one of a number of MLS clubs interested in signing experienced Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart.

The 32-year-old is currently in his second spell with Hamburger SV and is widely expected to leave Germany when his contract expires this summer.

Former club Ajax, in addition to a number of European clubs, are said to be preparing contract offers for the midfielder.

According to Kicker, however, Kansas City are confident of prising Van der Vaart to America with a strong financial package.

The former Netherlands international has also played for Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur during an illustrious career.
