Gloriana Villalobos grabs late equaliser for Costa Rica against South Korea

Gloriana Villalobos scores in the final few minutes to earn Costa Rica a 2-2 draw against South Korea in Group E of the 2015 Women's World Cup in Canada.

A late equaliser from Gloriana Villalobos ensured that Costa Rica came back to earn a 2-2 draw against South Korea in Group E of the Women's World Cup this evening.

Korea started the opening minutes in a bright fashion as both Yoo Younga and Ji Soyun saw early attempts kept out smartly by Costa Rica stopper Dinnia Diaz.

The saves were to prove important in the opening stages as Costa Rica soon found themselves 1-0 ahead thanks to Melissa Herrera, who profited from a needless free kick to convert past the South Korean keeper.

Their lead was not too last too long, however, as Ji Soyun returned to knock home a penalty after Cristin Granados brought Kwon Hah-nul down inside the box in the 21st minute.

The South Koreans soon found themselves ahead as Jeon Gauel produced some clever work inside the area to fire home past a helpless Diaz in the Costa Rica goal.

Costa Rica were nearly back in the game with just under 15 minutes to play, but defender Lixy Rodríguez was unfortunately denied by the post.

With the clock ticking down, Rodriguez's side applied just enough pressure in the final moments and Villalobos showed a cool head in the 89th minute as she finished smartly to leave the final score at 2-2.
