Huntelaar returned from a lengthy absence to open the scoring in a 3-0 win over Hamburger SV in Schalke's first match back after the winter break.
Farfan also played a starring role, scoring once and setting up the other two goals, but he was keen to stress the importance of his teammate to the side after the match.
"Klaas-Jan is an amazing striker. We really missed him in our games [before the winter break]. Now he comes back after six months out and scores in his first game. He's amazing," Farfan told the Bundesliga's official website.
The win moved Schalke to within two points of a Champions League qualifying place as both Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund slipped up.
