San Jose Earthquakes have moved to the top of the overall standings in Major League Soccer with a 4-0 win over Chivas USA.

The Earthquakes opened the scoring on 11 minutes when Victor Bernardez scored direct from a set-piece.

Simon Dawkins made it two before the interval, finishing smartly from close range.

Ramiro Corrales scored a second-half brace with two strikes from distance to complete a rout.

San Jose are now three points ahead of Sporting Kansas City in the race for the Supporters Shield as MLS comes towards the end of the regular season.
