Trinidad and Tobago international striker Kevon Carter has died after suffering a suspected heart attack while training with his club team.
The 30-year-old, who plays for Defence Force in his native land, passed away on Friday morning after being rushed to hospital complaining of chest pains.
The general secretary of the country's football federation, Sheldon Phillips, told reporters: "The young man had a quiet resolve about him and bounced back from a horrific leg injury to once again earn a spot on the national team.
"The entire football family is in mourning and our thoughts and prayers are with Kevon's family and teammates."
Carter scored five goals in 29 international appearances for his country.
