Rohan Ricketts told to decrease level

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rohan Ricketts has revealed that he has been told to decrease his level on the pitch for Indian club Dempo.

The 29-year-old joined the I-League club in August after departing Shamrock Rovers and Exeter City, but he has been left "speechless" by recent events.

"My game and style of play is too advanced for my teammates and I have to bring my level down so I can adapt??? This is what I've been told!" he tweeted.

"I'm absolutely speechless! Had a headache just trying to comprehend such a bizarre statement!"

Ricketts was capped at Under-18 and Under-20 level for England.
