England have reached sixth place in the FIFA world rankings following their Women’s World Cup effort in Germany.
The team were ousted in the quarter-finals by France, but their win over eventual victors Japan in the group stages has helped them climb four places from 10th.
Runners-up the United States remain top of the table, with World Cup winners Japan at fourth behind Germany and Brazil.
