The hosts took the lead in an evenly contested first 45 minutes on the half-hour mark through Sebastien Puygrenier, who found the target with his left foot from close range.
Gaetan Courtet could have restored parity for Reims five minutes before the break had he been able to keep his header from Floyd Ayite's delivery on target.
It was Ayite who equalised for the visitors after 48 minutes, firing in from outside the Nancy box after being teed up by Aissa Mandi.
Ten minutes later Ayite turned provider for Reims' second and winning goal, releasing Odair Fortes to shoot home from close range.
