Tottenham Hotspur reportedly slap a £70m price-tag on Gareth Bale and want to tie the Welshman down to an improved five-year contract at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly told the clubs interested in Gareth Bale that it will cost them £70m to land the winger.

Real Madrid and Manchester United are two of the teams that are monitoring the Welshman's situation at White Hart Lane, and Spurs would want a British record fee for the former Southampton man, according to The Express.

Spurs owner Daniel Levy wants to tie Bale down to a new and improved five-year contract that would see his earnings double from £75,000 to around £150,000 per week.

Bale is the club's leading scorer this season with 16 goals in the Premier League.
