Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger outlines importance of win over Manchester United

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger outlines three reasons as to why his side's 3-0 victory over Manchester United was so significant to the Gunners' campaign.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has outlined three reasons as to why the Gunners' victory over Manchester United was a significant one.

The 65-year-old saw his side put three goals past Louis van Gaal's team in 19 minutes to run out 3-0 victors at the Emirates.

"First of all, we had a very disappointing result three days before against Olympiacos and of course that was a huge shock," Wenger told beIN Sports.

"Secondly it was for us an opportunity to get two points behind the leader, level with Manchester United.

"We also beat them, and on top of that, the third, in recent years we have not beaten United in the Premier League so on three fronts it was a vital win for us."

Arsenal travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford on October 17.
