Wojciech Szczesny admits the 8-2 defeat earlier this season will be in the back of Arsenal's minds when they face Manchester United this afternoon.

Wojciech Szczesny has admitted that the Arsenal players will have revenge on their minds when they face Manchester United at the Emirates this afternoon.

The Polish goalkeeper was in the Gunners' net when United thrashed Arsenal 8-2 at Old Trafford earlier this season.

The result has haunted Arsenal fans and players throughout the season and Szczesny has said that his side will be targeting retribution in today's clash.

"Obviously I want to make up for what happened at Old Trafford last time around, so I am very excited about the game," Szczesny told Arsenal player.

"Somewhere in the back of our heads, that game will still be there and we want to make up for it.

"It is motivation for us now, but as soon as we get on the pitch, we will forget about it."

The towering stopper has made 54 appearances for the North London outfit since debuting in 2009.
