Manuel Pellegrini coy over possible Frank Lampard stay

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini refuses to expand on reports that Frank Lampard is to extend his loan spell by a further month.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has refused to confirm whether Frank Lampard is to extend his loan spell with the club.

The New York City FC midfielder is due to stay at the Etihad Stadium until January, but recent reports have claimed that City are keen to keep him until February.

Despite the possibility of Lampard remaining with the Blues for a further month, Pellegrini insisted on Tuesday that nothing had been agreed.


City start the defence of their League Cup crown on Wednesday night when the entertain Sheffield Wednesday in the third round of the competition.
