Sergio Aguero remains keen on Manchester City exit in 2020

Forward Sergio Aguero reiterates that he wants to leave Manchester City when his contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2020.

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has reiterated that he is still planning to return to Independiente del Valle before the end of his career.

Aguero has enjoyed a glittering spell at the Etihad Stadium, with 199 goals being scored in 290 appearances in all competitions since 2011, and the 29-year-old looks likely to remain at the Premier League leaders until at least 2020.

However, the Argentine remains keen on a return back home to play for Independiente del Valle, rather than taking his spell at City into a 10th campaign.

Aguero told Fox Sports Argentina: "I always said that I would like to return to Independiente when my contract ends with City, which is in 2020.

"I am not thinking about that now. I am focused on finishing the season well and reaching the World Cup."

Aguero came through the youth system at Independiente before spending the first three years of his professional career at El Rojo.
