Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has praised club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and stated that, if he is sacked by the Emirati businessman, his replacement will be "very lucky".

Despite a superb start to the season, the Citizens have only won two of their last six matches and are five points behind leaders Manchester United in the Premier League table.

The Italian's team have also been knocked out of Europe and both domestic cups, meaning that all hopes of silverware now rest on displacing their city rivals in the league.

It has been speculated that Al Mubarak may chose to appoint a new manager if the club fail to deliver the Premier League title this season, but Mancini has revealed that he has a "fantastic" relationship with his chairman.

"My relationship with Khaldoon is fantastic," said Mancini. "Even if he sacked me at the end of the season or next year, I would say that any manager who works with him is very lucky.

"He's a really good man. This doesn't change my opinion about him or the club. But I don't have this problem because I will continue in my job."

The Italian has conceded that the title race will be over if his side lose at Arsenal on Sunday.
