Edin Dzeko: 'Five teams fighting for Premier League title'

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko believes that up to five teams will be in the Premier League title race this season.

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has predicted that five teams will be fighting for the Premier League title this season.

The defending champions got their campaign off to a winning start on Sunday with a 2-0 victory away to Newcastle United.

Despite failing to name who he thinks will be involved in the title race, Dzeko believes that it will be one of the most fiercely-contested campaigns to date.

"It's just the beginning of the season and it will be definitely a long season with the five teams fighting for the title," he told the club's official website.

"It's good to start with a win, but we are not there. There are so many games to come and we have to prepare for the next one, for the big game against Liverpool to try to win at home."

City welcome Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League next Monday.
