Jamie Carragher: Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is "naive"

Jamie Carragher questions Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini after the champions' 2-1 loss to Liverpool.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has hit out at Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, describing him as "naive" for using the 4-4-2 formation.

City have lost two big games to Barcelona and Liverpool in the last week, and the Chilean has been heavily criticised for his tactics in both matches.

After City's 2-1 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, Carragher told Sky Sports News: "To employ that system in the big games is so naive.

"It's embarrassing really for a manager at that level to go into a game against Barcelona two years running and then again at Anfield like this. Something is not right about City and there has to be changes at the end of the season."

City sit second in the Premier League table.
