Manchester City made sure that they would go straight into the Champions League group phase next season by earning a 4-2 win at Swansea City.
The visitors opened up a 2-0 lead with 36 minutes played thanks to goals from Yaya Toure and James Milner, but Gylfi Sigurdsson pulled one back for Swansea on the stroke of half time.
Bafetimbi Gomis wiped out the away side's advantage when he found the net on 64 minutes, only for Toure and former Swans striker Wilfried Bony to seal the points for the former champions during the final 15 minutes.
Read Sports Mole's minute-by-minute report below to find out how all of the action unfolded on an entertaining afternoon at the Liberty Stadium.
Hello and welcome to Sports Mole's live text coverage of this afternoon's Premier League clash between Swansea City and Manchester City at the Liberty Stadium. In-form Swansea are looking to record their four consecutive win, while the visitors can secure a top-three finish if they come away with the spoils today. Team news will be through shortly.
Following on from their impressive 1-0 win away to Arsenal at the start of the week, Swansea have made two changes this afternoon as Jazz Richards and Bafetimbi Gomis, who scored the decisive goal at the Emirates Stadium, replace the injured duo of Ki Sung-yueng and Angel Rangel.
Just the one change for Manchester City after their 6-0 thrashing of Queens Park Rangers last weekend, with Yaya Toure returning to the starting XI to replace Fernando. Vincent Kompany remains on the bench for the champions, while former Swansea striker Wilfried Bony will have to make do with a place among the substitutes on his first trip back to the Liberty Stadium since joining the Blues in January.
There can be no denying that Swansea have been one of the teams of the season in the Premier League. Having already completed the double over Manchester United, they did the same to Arsenal on Monday night thanks to a surprise 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium. Garry Monk's side, who are currently in eighth place in the table, can make it four consecutive Premier League victories for the first time in their history if they beat City this afternoon.
22 - Since Wilfried Bony made his PL debut for Manchester City, Swansea have taken more points (22) than the Citizens (21). Adapt.

Man City have endured a tough season, but they can secure themselves a top-three finish this afternoon with a win over Swansea. If they fail to do that, a defeat for Manchester United against Arsenal later today will also do the job for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
The former champions have been in decent form as of late, winning their last four matches in the Premier League. Their most recent victory came last weekend when they hammered QPR at the Etihad Stadium. Sergio Aguero stole the show that day, scoring a hat-trick for the Citizens. Will the Argentine find himself on the scoresheet again today?
It's worth pointing out that Swansea are higher up than Man City when it comes to the form table over the last six games. The Swans have taken 13 points from the last 18 on offer, while the Blues have taken 12. Only champions Chelsea have been in better form than Garry Monk's team over the past few weeks, winning 14 points out of a possible 18.
Swansea boss Garry Monk, talking to The Observer: "I'm ambitious, the players are ambitious, the club's ambitious and the fans are ambitious. For sure, I'm going to push the players to take a step forward again. That is my sole aim for next season. But realistically it will be extremely hard to top what we've done this season, in terms of points, where we are in the league and how we've done it, and I think people need to understand and realise that."
Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini: "I spoke with Garry Monk when he came to the Etihad earlier this season. We won the game but I told him after the game that they are a very good team, who play good football and so it's no surprise that they're so high in the table. It's the way you understand football and I think Garry Monk sees it in the right way.
"I think Swansea have had a very good season, they are playing well, they have an important amount of points. They are fighting for the Europa League which is a good season for them. They will hope to finish in the same way."
HEAD TO HEAD: Man City have the superior record when it comes to past meetings between these sides, winning 17 matches compared to seven victories for the Swans. The two teams have also played out three draws since they first faced off.
Man City have not been beaten in their previous five matches against Swansea, with the last three encounters ending as wins for the Blues. This season's reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium saw Manuel Pellegrini's men come from behind to earn a 2-1 triumph thanks to goals from Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure. Swansea's most recent win over City was a 1-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium back in March 2012.
One thing that we should expect from this game today is plenty of attacking football. Swansea will be wary of giving the visitors too much freedom in the final third, but the home side are more than capable of doing some damage of their own at the other end of the pitch through the likes of Gomis, Dyer, Montero and Sigurdsson. It could be a case of the team with the most robust defence comes out on top this afternoon.
Looking at the home and away form tables, Swansea have won half of their 18 Premier League games at the Liberty Stadium this season, putting them in eighth place in those particular standings. Meanwhile, nine victories from their 18 matches on the road mean that Man City are the third best away side in the division. Only Chelsea and Arsenal have done better on their travels.
The players are starting to emerge in the tunnel at the Liberty Stadium as we edge closer to kickoff. The Swansea players will certainly be fancying their chances over the next 90 minutes. As for the visitors, they head into the match full of confidence themselves.
The two teams emerge from the tunnel to a rapturous reception from those inside the ground. The Swansea fans are fired up for what is the team's final home game of the season, that's for sure.
CHANCE! It's been a live start to the game and it's Swansea who almost get the first goal. Shelvey picks the ball up in midfield before feeding Gomis. The striker takes a bit of time to get his shot away on the edge of the box, but Hart gets down low to keep it out.
Swansea are doing most of the pressing at the moment, while Man City are finding it difficult to keep hold of the ball. Garry Monk will be pleased with how his players have started this match.
Gomis has already given the Man City defence plenty to think about with his power and clever hold-up play. The Frenchman is going to play a key role for Swansea this afternoon. Meanwhile, the home side are passing the ball about with lots of confidence. They've been very slick so far.
CHANCE! Another great move from Swansea almost brings the afternoon's opening goal. Montero does brilliantly down the left, making up plenty of ground before slipping in Taylor. The full-back tries to pick out Gomis in the middle, but his pass is a little behind the forward, who eventually shoots over.
Man City are having to be really alert at the back as Swansea continue to dominate. The hosts win themselves a corner out on the right that Sigurdsson floats into the box, but Gomis's header goes off target. That was a difficult opportunity for Gomis because he had to angle his neck awkwardly.
CHANCES! Man City have hardly ventured into the Swansea half since the start of the match, but they come within inches of taking the lead through a Kolarov free kick. The full-back lets rip from 25 yards, only to see his effort go narrowly wide. Swansea then break up the other end through Dyer, though his curled drive is pushed away by Hart. Action at both ends there.
The visitors have the ball in the net, but it won't count. Aguero gets in behind the Swansea defence before dinking his shot over Fabianski, though the flag is up for offside. It was the right call as well.
This is better from Man City. Manuel Pellegrini's side have started to come alive a bit. They're putting much more pressure on Swansea, though the hosts are doing a good job of staying robust in defence. It's taken a while for the former champions to get going, that's for sure.
Lukasz Fabianski had a superb game against Arsenal on Monday, but he's at fault here as Man City take the lead through Yaya Toure. The midfielder hits a low drive towards goal from the edge of the box that somehow finds its way past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. It may have taken a slight nick on its way through, though you would have expected the Pole to keep that out.
Swansea are enjoying plenty of possession right now, but they're not doing a great deal with it. Lots of their play is based around the midfield area, with a fair few Man City shirts blocking their way through. The dynamism with which they played during the opening 20 minutes or so seems to have disappeared for now.
The visitors are doing a really good job of pressuring Swansea high up the pitch. The home side are being forced to pass the ball around quicker than they want, leading to a few errors. Swans eventually put an attack together as Montero crosses for Gomis, but the striker's diving header is straight at Hart. It wouldn't have counted anyway because he was offside.
A wonderful goal from James Milner makes it 2-0 to Man City, and the visitors suddenly look in firm control. Having defended a Swansea corner, the away side breaks through Lampard, who sweeps a long ball upfield to Aguero. The Argentine feeds Milner down the left before the midfielder cuts inside and curls the ball into the far corner. Clinical football from the Blues.
You get the feeling that Swansea are being punished for not making more of their early dominance in this match. Garry Monk's side were all over Man City for the opening 20 minutes, but they failed to make their authority count.
That goal from Milner has certainly silenced the Swansea fans. The Liberty Stadium is now a quiet place to be. On the pitch, Man City are looking very confident going forward as Swansea try to steady themselves. Manuel Pellegrini's men can smell blood now.
It's all too easy for Man City right now. They're not being pressed particularly hard by Swansea, which Garry Monk should be concerned by. The Blues are being allowed to dictate the pace of the game, passing the ball about with ease.
Bang! Swansea are suddenly back in this game thanks to a fine strike from Gylfi Sigurdsson. The midfielder receives the ball on the edge of the box before curling a low drive past the outstretched hand of Hart and into the bottom corner. That was perfectly placed. There will be one minute of added time.
Mark Clattenburg blows the half-time whistle, bringing the curtain down on an entertaining opening 45 minutes at the Liberty Stadium. Goals from Yaya Toure and James Milner looked to have put Man City in firm control before Gylfi Sigurdsson reduced the deficit on the stroke of half time.
Swansea started the match really well and could have easily taken the lead, but Man City held on and eventually found their rhythm. After going 1-0 up, they turned the screw and made their dominance count by grabbing a second goal. However, Manuel Pellegrini could well be giving a different team talk now following that Sigurdsson strike.
It was surprising just how much Swansea went off the boil after going behind. The hosts looked really positive during the opening stages, but they've lacked fired and passion since Toure made it 1-0. That could well be something that Garry Monk is drilling into his players right now. They'll need to show more desire and hunger if they want to test Man City in the second half.
It was looking bleak for Swansea when they went 0-2 down, but they now have a great chance of getting something out of this game. They will need to be much tighter in defence and midfield if they want to thwart Man City, though. The former champions have been very slick so far.
SECOND HALF UNDERWAY! The teams are back out for the second half and it will be Man City to kick us off again. No changes from either manager during the break.
It's been all Man City since the restart, with the visitors dominating possession. Aguero carves out half a chance as he runs across the edge of the box before getting a shot away, but his effort flies well wide of the target. Meanwhile, Bony receives a warm reception from the Swansea fans as he warms up along the touchline.
Swansea are seeing a bit more of the ball now, though it's Man City who are looking the more dangerous in the final third. Aguero's movement up front continues to cause the hosts problems, while Silva and Milner are working hard off the Argentine.
CHANCE! Almost a third goal for Man City as Aguero bursts down the right before crossing into Lampard. However, the midfielder scuffs his effort and it's easily saved by Fabianski. At the other end, Shelvey forces a save from Hart with a low drive from 25 yards.
It's suddenly all hands to the pump for Man City as Swansea push hard for an equaliser. The visitors are forced to defend three corners in quick succession before a strike from Williams is easily held by Hart. That spell of pressure came from nowhere.
Navas almost makes an instant impact as he meets a corner from the left, but the Spaniard's cushioned volley is straight at Fabianski. Swansea break up the other end moments later before Zabaleta is booked for chopping down Shelvey.
SAVES! Fabianski goes some way to making up for his earlier error by making a couple of fine stops in quick succession. Silva is the first to be denied from a difficult angle before the ball breaks to Navas, whose drive is also kept out.
They've done it! Swansea make it 2-2 thanks to Bafetimbi Gomis's fifth goal in five games. Richards's long ball over the top is missed by Mangala, allowing Gomis to take a touch before drilling a low drive past Hart and into the far corner.
SAVE! Fabianski to the rescue again for Swansea! Silva does brilliantly as he exchanges passes with Milner before surging into the box. The Spaniard only has to tap it in from close range, but Fabianski reacts quickly to keep out the effort from point-blank range.
The Liberty Stadium was a subdued place to be when Man City went 2-0 up, but now it's rocking. The hosts have done so well to fight back against Manuel Pellegrini's men. Will there be another twist during the final 20 minutes? Both teams are really going for it now.
Man City regain the lead as Yaya Toure gets his second of the game with a trademark finish. The Ivorian runs from deep, shrugging off a couple of Swansea defenders before hammering the ball past Fabianski at the near post. That was all about Toure's brute strength.
YELLOW CARD! Fernandinho deservedly goes into the book for a cynical challenge on Barrow. The midfielder hung a leg out to stop the Swansea sub, giving referee Mark Clattenburg no option.
MAN CITY SUB: And it's another change for Man City, with captain Vincent Kompany replacing Fernandinho. Do Swansea have it in them to fight back once again? The hosts have shown plenty of spirit so far, but time is running out for them now.
SAVE! What a stop from Hart to keep his side ahead! A corner is whipped in from the right, which is met by Fernandez. The defender's header looks destined for the top corner, but Hart somehow gets across to claw it away. Superb goalkeeping.
SAVE! It's another sensational save from Hart to deny Swansea! A cross from the right is headed towards goal by Gomis, who is in acres of space inside the box, but his effort is pushed away by the shotstopper. What a couple of minutes for the England international.
Would you believe it? Wilfried Bony scores against his former club to seal the points for Man City. The striker composes himself inside the box before seeing his low strike go in off the post. There's no celebration from the Ivorian, which is fair enough.
The visitors are just knocking the ball now, trying to run the clock down. It's not been completely smooth for Manuel Pellegrini's side, but it would be safe to say that they deserve the victory.
The full-time whistle goes and Man City have secured a top-three finish in the Premier League table thanks to a 4-2 win over Swansea. The visitors were made to work hard for the three points, but they leave South Wales as worthy winners.
That's all from our live text coverage of this afternoon's game, but you can keep up to date with all of the reaction from both camps here on Sports Mole. Thanks for your company, we hope to see you again soon. Goodbye!
