Manchester City duo Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne are reportedly close to returning to action after spells out through injury at the beginning of the season.

Manchester City attacking duo Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden have both reportedly become close to returning to action after spells on the sidelines through injury.

Foden, who picked up a foot injury while playing for England at Euro 2020, has been absent for the beginning of the season, while also missing his nation's latest round of fixtures, concluding with a trip to Poland on Wednesday.

De Bruyne also sustained an injury at this summer's Euro 2020, limping off as Belgium defeated Portugal 1-0 in the round of 16, and was unable to shake the issue when he came on for the final minutes in the Citizens' opening defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Manchester Evening News, the pair are set to return to training this week, and could feature in the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Leicester City

Such news follows a positive update regarding centre-back Aymeric Laporte, who was substituted off at half time for Spain on Sunday but is said to not need a scan, with the change instead coming as a precaution with regards to muscle fatigue.
