Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Brighton

Manchester City return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when they play host to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Despite the widespread plaudits that they have achieved throughout the season, City head into this fixture four points adrift of leaders Arsenal and having failed to score in their most recent two games in all competitions.

However, Pep Guardiola's side have had almost a week to recover from the 1-0 defeat at Liverpool last weekend, and they will expect to return to winning ways in front of their own supporters.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of welcoming the Seagulls to the Etihad Stadium.

John Stones

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: October 25 (vs. Borussia Dortmund)

When John Stones suffered a hamstring injury when representing England during the international break, he had initially been expected to miss approximately two weeks. However, the defender has remained sidelined, and may not return until the Champions League fixture with Borussia Dortmund.

Kalvin Phillips

Status: Out Type of injury: Shoulder Possible return date: Unknown

While Kalvin Phillips is sidelined for the foreseeable future after a shoulder operation, Guardiola is hopeful that the midfielder will return before the World Cup.

Kyle Walker

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: Unknown

Having recently undergone groin surgery, there is little possibility of Kyle Walker returning to the City squad before the World Cup. Nevertheless, the England defender is still focused on trying to make the squad for the tournament in Qatar.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

None of the Manchester City squad are suspended for this fixture.
