Martin Skrtel hands in transfer request?

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel reportedly handed in a transfer request following the club's 1-0 defeat to Swansea City on the final day of the season.

According to BBC Radio Merseyside, the 27-year-old has grown frustrated at the club's inability to challenge for top prizes, and he is understood to have instructed his agent to find him a new club.

The Slovakian was not involved in the squad on Sunday - with no injury to be reported - leading to suggestions that he will leave.

Skrtel has made 173 appearances during his four years at the club.
