Jurgen Klopp: 'No need to panic buy after Burnley defeat'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that he would be an "idiot" if he rushed into the transfer market in the wake of his side's 2-0 defeat to Burnley.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he will not panic buy in the wake of his side's 2-0 loss to Burnley on Saturday.

The Reds fell to a disappointing defeat at Turf Moor just six days after opening their campaign with a thrilling 4-3 victory away to Arsenal.

However, while leaving the door open for more new arrivals, Klopp insists that there is no pressing need to re-enter the transfer market.

"If one game should change my mind then I would be a real idiot," he told reporters.

"The answer is I don't know - we will see. I know you would all buy a left-back - but a midfielder?

"Emre Can was on the bench, he had a back problem, Lucas Leiva is injured and you ask me for a hard midfield player."

Liverpool have made seven new signings already this summer, but have recouped their spending by selling players.
