Andy Carroll told to leave?

Liverpool have reportedly told Andy Carroll that he will remain on the bench this season if he does not secure a move away from the club.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Reds from Newcastle United in January 2011, has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs this summer.

According to Goal.com, the Englishman is not in Brendan Rodgers's plans for the remainder of the season, and he has been told to leave.

Carroll scored nine goals for Liverpool last season.
