Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United

Liverpool injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle

Liverpool's pursuit of Premier League glory continues with a lunchtime trip to St James' Park to take on Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Reds' 2-0 win over Merseyside derby rivals Everton leaves them one point behind Manchester City at the top of the rankings, with Jurgen Klopp's side still relying on the reigning champions dropping points.

Liverpool also won by the same scoreline in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final with Villarreal on Wednesday night, with Sadio Mane netting after a Pervis Estupinan own goal.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Magpies.

Roberto Firmino

Status: Out Type of injury: Foot Possible return date: Unknown

Roberto Firmino has now missed Liverpool's last three games with a foot injury, and Klopp has conceded that the attacker will not be back in time for Saturday either.

Kostas Tsimikas

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Illness Possible return date: April 30 (vs. Newcastle)

Kostas Tsimikas was one of two illness-related absentees for the first leg against Villarreal, but the left-back should be able to return for the trip to Newcastle.

Curtis Jones

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Illness Possible return date: April 30 (vs. Newcastle)

As is the case with Tsimikas, Curtis Jones was also unavailable for the clash with the Yellow Submarine due to illness, and he is more of a doubt for the trip to St James' Park.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for this match.
