Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has insisted that he will contest the red card handed to him during the club's 3-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
The Danish international was dismissed for a professional foul on Shane Long, but while he was quick to defend referee Phil Dowd's decision, he does not believe that he deserved to be sent off.
When asked whether he would appeal the red card, Agger said: "Of course. I've seen it again on television and there is no contact.
"Referees are only human. They make mistakes as well.
"I was unlucky to be involved in one of the mistakes. It's frustrating but that's part of the game."
Liverpool have yet to announce whether they will appeal the decision.
